I've seen games implement HDR poorly or had broken HDR.which many people will reject the idea of for some silly reason (why would it be the software? but of course, it's the hardware!). Aside from the scanlines at 240hz and the grid pattern or dirty screen effect you can see from the FALD mini LEDs, the monitor has been terrific. I haven't seen any real differences in this firmware update yet. I'm still shocked they haven't solved this one given they must have a dozen reliable sources to reproduce the issue. If you can get a pattern on the screen to trigger it, then it's software that's determining when to dim maybe? Something makes that determination based on the pixels on the screen. ![]() It's a pretty bad flaw in this monitor that is 100% fixable by firmware update. Depending on the game and how often it appeared, you can just switch to 240hz for the game. ![]() The following image is usually a good way to reproduce: Ĭhanging 120hz eliminates the problem. oh and not to mention blanking, which isn't fully resolved with VRR control, nor high GPU clocks (yes, GPU core downclocking actually increases blanking/blinking artifacts with and without VRR control). I've never used a monitor that aside from the price was really affected by 240hz, low GPU clocks. Who knows, maybe this is a deserving g-sync monitor (if it was manufactured with a newer than 1011.0 firmware/after it got added to certification, which if so, would otherwise not be uploaded to the support page for a while, just like last time. note that the user stated a firmware version that wasn't as new as 1011.0 and a bit shortly after reading it, 1011.0 was released. I can recall someone asking about why the neo G9 had a firmware version that was newer than 1008.0 (since 1008.0 was the latest version for months). Since this actual NVIDIA certification came many months after the monitor's release and well after 1011.0. Yes, and for the sake of steps in order, I REALLY hope the next firmware for this monitor will make it flicker-free, stutter-free, and scanline free.
